Steampunk Name Tag

At this month's meeting, my local rubber stamp club asked its' members to make name tags to wear at the meetings.  I knew right away that mine had to be in the style of steampunk.

I made it using the Tim Holtz Sizzix gears die, as well as the heart and wings die.  I covered the gears with Tim Holtz Crowded Attic papers, and colored the wings with Broken China and Chipped Sapphire Distress Stains.  Tim Holtz Idea-ology embellishments were added to the chipboard gears.  I placed the metal gears close together so that one turns the other, and vice versa.

CHA Winter 2012 Anaheim

Back from CHA, and my mind is spinning with all the new products and techniques I saw.  My favorite new product (as if that is possible) would be the new French General line from EK Success and Jolee's.  The "papers" are actually 12"x12" sheets of fabric, and all fabric sheets have a self-adhesive backing.  The embellishments were made from molds using the French General vintage, one-of-a-kind pieces.  What a wonderful vintage look.  I can hardly wait for this one to hit the stores.  Above is a picture of the 12"x12" page we made in their class.
