Romantic Anniversary Card with Sin City Stamps

Hey there, Sin City Stamps fans!  Can you believe we are half way through June already?  I was in my local Hobby Lobby and they were already stocking Christmas items.  I asked the worker if the store  knew it wasn't even July yet.  Christmas in July is still too early for me, and June is just ridiculous.  In any case, I am thinking weddings and anniversaries.  So, I made this pretty card to celebrate either one.  It would also make a beautiful birthday card by simply changing the sentiment.

Supplies Used:

Sin City Stamps Romance Plate
Print papers: Gold Wedding Texture, Eloise Floral (Paper Studio)
Cardstock:  Cartulina (silver pearl) (Recollections)
                    Light Pink Metallic (Bazzill)
Die:  Marvelous Squares (Spellbinders)
Gold Detail Embossing Powder
Versamark ink
Black Archival ink
Distress Inks:  Vintage Photo, Spun Sugar
Distress Ink Markers:  Picket Fence, Spun Sugar, Shabby Shutters
3D Crystal Lacquer

Directions:

Trim light pink metallic card stock to 6" x 12", fold in half to make 6" x 6" top-fold card base.  Trim Eloise Floral to 5-3/4"  5-3/4", ink edges with Vintage Photo, adhere to card base.
Stamp rose image with Versamark ink, heat emboss with detail gold embossing powder.
Center die over stamped image and cut out.  TIP:  Use a low tack removable tape to keep die from moving during cutting process, and place a piece of wax paper between the paper and the die to help the paper release from the die without tearing.

Now, for the magic, at least to me.  I can't remember being this excited since seeing embossing powder melt for the first time.

Color the rose with the Picket Fence distress marker.  It does not show up at first, but then, all of a sudden, it starts turning white.  It reminds me of painting with bleach, without the smell.  Lightly remove the ink from the embossing powder.  Next, apply a tiny amount of Spun Sugar distress marker.  Voila!  You have a white rose with pink highlights to match the paper.  I also added a bit of Shabby Shutters distress marker to the leaves.  The effect is subtle, but effective.
Add Vintage Photo distress ink to the square to make it more vintage.
Die cut a background frame from Cartulina CS, distress ink edges with Spun Sugar.

Adhere stamped image to this layer.  Adhere to lower right of card base, as shown.
Stamp love banner onto scrap of gold wedding texture paper with Vintage Photo, fussy cut banner.

Adhere to top of card with foam strip, as shown.
I decided I needed one more element, so I stamped the Love Potion No. 9 bottle onto a scrap of Cartiluna CS paper with black archival ink, then colored with Vintage Photo and Shabby Shutters distress inks.
After fussy cutting it out, I applied a coat of 3D Crystal Lacquer over the bottle, and let it dry before "round"shaping it a bit and gluing it to the lower left side, as shown.  I discovered that I was able to achieve the most beautiful glittery look using this paper, as you can see in the closeup.  I am sure any metallic pearl type of CS would give this effect.
For the card inside, I stamped the love sentiment onto a piece of parchment and adhered it inside.
Isn't this a beautiful card?  I think it would make a wonderful anniversary card, and with all the June weddings, it stands to reason that there will, of course, be lots of June anniversaries.

I sure hope you enjoyed my card project this time, and that you will take a moment to visit the Sin City Stamps online store to see all of their beautiful stamps and stamp plates.  It is a real bargain to buy the whole stamp plate, and as you can see, all of the stamps go together.  Of course, they are interchangeable with other stamps, too.  And for more ideas, visit the Sin City Stamps blog to see what the other fabulous designers are creating.

Thanks so much for stopping by, and I hope you have a wonderful Summer!
