Wine Lover's Home Decor Project

Hello everyone!  If you've been following along this month, then you know that the Altered Pages design team has been creating some awesome projects using a super cool product called  Craft Attitude.  The more I use this product, the more I fall in love with it.

As the holidays draw closer and closer, thoughts lead towards making quick, but beautiful, gifts for giving to our friends and loved ones.  Today, I want to share with you a canvas board I altered to become this beautiful wall plaque I made for the wine lover in your life.  This would make an especially nice hostess gift to go along with a nice bottle of wine, don't you think?

Supplies:

Altered Pages:  Nesting Frames 2 dies; Adornment Die Cut; 5x7 Canvas Art Board; Art Anthology Dimensional Acrylic Paints:  Kona Velvet, Coral Sorbet, Imperial Sorbet;  Gel Medium; Ultra Fine Mist Sprayer; Fruit of the Vine collage sheet; Jug of Wine collage sheet;  Leather Mix'd Media ink pad; Memento white ink pad; Brushstix; 3D Crystal Lacquer; Havana Brown seam binding;
Craft Attitude printable film
Other:  Lattice die, pediment die, acrylic tag, distress crackle paint, decorative edge scissors, brown and green distress ink

Check out How to Make a Wine Lover's Home Decor Piece by Barbara Rankin on Snapguide.

Now you have a beautiful Wine Love's Plaque that can either be hung on the wall, or sit on your table, mantel, or desk as a piece of home decor.

But wait, there's more.  How about a nice tag to hang around that gift bottle of wine.

I decided to make an acrylic tag using this image of wine bottles from the Fruit of the Vine collage sheet.  Simply resize and print the image onto Craft Attitude film.
Allow film to dry thoroughly, then adhere to acrylic tag with glue stick.  (All directions for using Craft Attitude are included inside the package).  Allow glue to dry, then trim excess.
Don't forget to remove the white paper liner so the image is transparent on the acrylic.
Print the largest grape vine image from the Fruit of the Vine collage sheet and trim around it. I used decorative corner scissors for the top, but you could just simply cut off the top at an angle to form a tag. Punch a hole in the center, round bottom edges, and edge with a brown distress ink.

 Use a piece of the Havana Brown seam binding to make a triple bow ribbon, thread through the acrylic tag and the paper tag, and tie ends around the wine bottle.  You can write your sentiment on the back of the paper tag.  These acrylic tags would make wonderful wine glass charms, too!  Make 4 or 6 or 8 or more, and you would have another wonderful hostess gift to give in a hurry.
Sorry for getting so long-winded today, but I hope you enjoyed my project all the same, and that I have inspired you to get to making those gifts for your friends and family using products from Altered Pages and of course, Craft Attitude.

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday, and thanks for stopping by!

Barbara
