Mixed Media Cards: Romance

Hello everyone!  I want to share a couple of romantic mixed media cards today.  I love working with Gina's Designs Lasercuts because their chipboard makes it so easy to create beautiful cards, and I love working with the DecoArt Media line of paints and products.

For both cards, I used paper from the same Kaisercraft Storyteller pad and my favorite DecoArt Media Fluid Acrylics to color the chipboard.

On the Love card, introduce the olive green color by stamping the crackle stamp with the Mossy ink.

Cut away uneven pieces from the Swirled Hearts Texture Sheet.  Paint with a mixture of Titan Buff and Transparent Red Iron Oxide, mixing the paint on the chipboard as you work it in.  Lastly, I decided to add splashes of the Cobalt Teal Hue randomly to make it all cohesive with the background paper.

Cut the paper slightly smaller than the 5" x 7" kraft card, edge with Jasper (white) ink, and adhere the chipboard pieces, as shown.

Paint a 3" corrugated cardboard circle with DecoArt Media Titan Buff, blending a bit of Cobalt Teal Hue and Transparent Red Iron Oxide.  Adhere to card front, as shown.

Paint half of the Cardstock Doily with Titan Buff, Cobalt Teal Hue, and Pthalo Green-Yellow.  Use finger to add a light touch of the olive green color from the Mossy Ink pad.

Adhere the Cardstock Doily over the corrugated cardboard circle, as shown.

Punch out one of the die cut labels from the paper pad ; edge label with a dry brushed coat of the Titan Buff and Pthalo Green-Yellow paint.  Use finger to add more olive green color using the Mossy ink pad.

Add a scrap piece of chipboard to the back of the label for strength, then adhere to center of card base, as shown.

Paint five Rose Leaves with a combination of DecoArt Media Titan Buff and Cobalt Teal Hue.  Paint the word "Love" with a mix of Titan Buff and Transparent Red Iron Oxide.

Adhere Rose Leaves  and word Love to center of card, as shown.

Finish off card with paper flowers, butterfly, and gem swirls.

My second card, Lost in You, was made similarly using different patterned papers from the Kaisercraft Storyteller paper pad.

Introduce the peachy color by adding a wash of Titan Buff, Transparent Red Iron Oxide, and water to the background print.

Trim paper to 5-3/4" square, distress and ink edges with Mossy ink pad.  Adhere to 6" square kraft card.

Cut two banner shapes from coordinating paper, distress and ink edges with Mossy ink pad. Adhere to card front, as shown.

Paint the other half of the Cardstock Doily with a mixture of DecoArt Media Titan Buff and Transparent Red Iron Oxide.

Adhere Cardstock Doily to card base, as shown.

Paint Lost in You chipboard with DecoArt Media Titan Buff, blended with Cobalt Teal Hue and a tiny bit of Phthalo Green-Yellow.

Let paint dry, then use finger to pick up olive green color from Mossy ink pad and add to chipboard.

Paint peacock feather with a mix of Titan Buff, Cobalt Teal Hue, and Phthalo Green-Yellow.  Let dry, then add coat of  Interference Gold mixed with Transparent Red Iron Oxide.

Adhere chipboard pieces to card base, as shown.

Finish off card with paper flowers and a butterfly.
