Craft Hoarders Anonymous Blog Hop - January 2017

Happy New Year!  I hope you are ready for our quarterly blog hop.  As always, we will make something from our hoarded stash of supplies.  And best of all, we have some great prizes to give away.

Theme: Winter, New Year’s, Calendar ideas, Valentine’s Day, Love/Anniversary
As you can see, I chose to make a Valentine's Day card. I had this pretty paper
from K&Company called Smitten for years. I may have used a few pieces from
this pad, but I seem to find it more pleasurable to decorate the inside of my
drawer. Well, no more!
I thought it would be fun to share with you a picture of some of the stash I planned
to use on this card but, as it turns out, I didn't use everything.
It's pretty simple, really. I made a card base to measure 5"x7", and layered a
piece from the paper pad slightly smaller than the card base. I found these
pretty aqua/gold doilies and layered that next. Some pretty heart shaped lace,
topped with pleated pink ribbon was added along the left edge. I die cut two
heart shapes, two solid hearts from different papers, and one gold flourished
heart. These were layered on top of each other, as shown.
Next, I added three mini flowers and a pretty pink bow to the center heart. A
print label was added with pop dots above the hearts, and two stamp images
were adhered on either side of the heart.
These pieces were used to finish off the inside of the card.
I layered the vellum with printed phrase over the print square label, and centered
on the card inside. Another label printed "love is in the air" was pop dotted and
added over the square label. A border strip was cut in half and added along the
top and bottom edge. Finishing off the card inside is just one more added detail,
but usually so appreciated by the recipient.
I hope you have been inspired to check out what you are hoarding in your stash
suitable for Valentine's Day. It isn't far off, you know. So take a look, you never
know what you will find. I am always surprised at some of the amazing, but long-
forgotten things I come across.

    1. Thanks for your sweet comments, Tristan. You always make me feel so artistic! I have saved (hoarded) so much for so many years that I think I probably need to purge a bit, as well. LOL Which, BTW, I have started doing. But is is so hard to get rid of things that are so pretty! Happy New Year to you, too! Hope 2017 brings you all you wish for!

    1. Thanks, Meme. I think it comes with the territory, since we paper crafters seem to always be in the same "boat", too much stuff, too little time. LOL

  11. I had to laugh at your comment about seeming to prefer to decorate the inside of a drawer with pretty papers, rather than use them....a common problem here too! LOVE that you used one of those vellum sentiments for the inside of the card. I have many of those and will have to start using them as well.
