I started with a 12x12 piece of scrapbook paper from my stash, and adhered it to a slightly larger piece of blue mat board. I chose the chipboard pieces I planned on using and arranged them on the paper to see how they would fit.
Each piece was first coated with either white or black gesso, then I used colored pencils to bring them to life. I drew some details in pencil on the pumpkins, corn stalks, and squirrel, then I used a metal stylus to emboss those details.
The rake and canning jar hangers were painted with a silver marker, then dry brushed with black gesso for an aged metal look. The canning jar lids and "Happy" were colored with gold metallic; then red pencil was added to the jars before I heat embossed with clear embossing powder.
A few close-ups of the chipboard pieces are below. I added some black alphabet stickers to spell "FALL" on each of the canning jars.
Here you can see the dimension added to the pumpkins, and details added to the squirrel.
The scarecrow was painted with black gesso, and I gave him a scary face with a white gel pen. I don't know about you, but clowns AND scarecrows scare me!
A tiny bit of the gold metallic was aded to the corn stalk leaves to coordinate with the gold metallic used on the word "Happy".
