'Tis the season, so I made a Christmas card with some K&Company papers I've been hoarding forever. I vaguely remember when I bought this paper, and how I fell so in love with it that apparently I did not want to ever use it. I think the time has come, though.
'Tis the season, so I made a Christmas card with some K&Company papers I've been hoarding forever. I vaguely remember when I bought this paper, and how I fell so in love with it that apparently I did not want to ever use it. I think the time has come, though.
Instructions are fairly simple. I started out with red card stock to make a 6"x" card base, and trimmed to print layers, each slightly smaller than the front. Before adhering them, I distressed them for that shabby chic look.
A 4"x4" distressed piece of green print paper and two border strips cut from one of the specialty paper pads was adhered, as shown.
Die cut a piece of vellum with the Prima doily day and adhere to the green paper, then adhere one of the chipboard tags from the Christmas Cheer collection. I chose the deer for this card.
Die cut a rosette from another paper from the Specialty paper pad, and adhere a smaller snowflake chipboard tag from the aforementioned collection.
Die cut two maidenhair ferns from olive green card stock and adhere along the sides of the card, as shown.
Put a piece of foam tape beneath the Noel chipboard and adhere slightly over the deer chipboard.
Finally, I used a clear glitter Wink of Stella pen and went over the leaves, the deer, and the snowflake to bring a hint of glitter to the card.
I realize the glitter is so fine that is does not really show up in the photo, so here is a closeup of the leaves. I think you can just barely make it out, but it really did add just the right amount of sparkle. I love how this turned out. I guess it only goes to show that if you bought it, even if it was years and years ago, there must have been a good reason.
