By the way, take a look at the new Special Delivery Baby Boy and Baby Girl kits. They are so cute and charming, you will want both kits. I have made two more cards from the Baby Boy kit to share with you today.
We are also very pleased to be teaming up with Love Bug Creations this month, using some of their scrumptious rumple ribbons in our creations. These ribbons are so fun to use, and the colors are absolutely gorgeous!
The first card I want to share with you today is using some of the new Hot Flame Line collection papers. This card is made especially for a graduate, but you could certainly use it for any kind of special achievement that you would like to acknowledge.
The Robin's Nest Wind Flames with thermal icing CS
The Robin's Nest Black CS
The Robin's Nest Chili CS
The Robin's Nest Mango CS
LoveBug Creations Rumple Ribbon (Sunflower, Sunset, Rosebud)
Ranger Distress Inks (Aged Mahogany)
Sizzix Vintage Fan Bigz die (Tim Holtz)
Sizzix Tattered Banners (Sizzlit Border Strip) (Tim Holtz)
Metal gear, brad (Tim Holtz)
Cut The Robin's Nest Black CS 6-1/2" x 10", fold in half to make 6-1/2" x 5" card. Trim The Robin's Nest Wind Flames with thermal icing CS to 6-1/2" x 5", adhere to card front.
Adhere a piece of The Robin's Nest Chili CS (4-1/2" x 5-1/2") to a piece of chipboard the same size. Die cut vintage fan from the chili cs/chipboard piece. This is easier than trying to match up two separately cut fan images.
Adhere vintage fan to card front. These are the three colors of rumple ribbon I used for the fan.The Robin's Nest Mango CS with the tattered banners border die. Add Aged Mahogany distress ink all over, and hand write message: "Fan the Flames".
I found this quotation online, which was my inspiration for this card. I printed it out onto a piece of parchment paper, trimmed it to 4-1/2" x 6" to fit inside my card.
Doesn't this make the perfect graduation card? I am so thrilled with how the Hot Flame Line papers work so well with this quotation. The internet is a wonderful thing. You can glean a lot of inspiration from its abundance of information.*************************************************************
Next, I made a few cards using the Special Delivery Baby Boy kit. Here is a picture of the fun things included in the kit.
The Robin's Nest Special Delivery Baby Boy kit
The Robin's Nest Neon Mini Dew Drops (orange, blue, pink)
The Robin's Nest Glitter Blue Alphabet Stickers
LoveBug Creations Rumple Ribbon (Ocean View, Purple-dise, Green Leaves)
Distress Inks (Stormy Sky, Gathered Twig, Faded Jeans, Dusty Concord)
Distress Stain (Picket Fence)
Spellbinders Labels 22 die
Pale pink CS
Tan CS scraps
First up, my baby boy card.
Rocking Horses paper to 5-1/4" x 4", add stormy sky distress ink to paper, and distress edges with gathered twig. Adhere to card front.
Adhere rocking horse sticker to a scrap of tan cs. Align labels 22 die over sticker, as shown. Cut out.
To change color of Ocean View rumple ribbon, first color with Picket Fence distress stain. Heat set. Add Stormy Sky, Faded Jeans, and Dusty Concord distress inks, heat set. The rumple ribbon will now be fairly stiff. Make a loop in the middle and adhere beneath the rocking horse label.
Add neon mini dew drops around the label, and spell out "It's a Boy" with Blue Glitter alphabet stickers. (TIP: I cut the tiny end piece from the letter "Z" to make my apostrophe.)
Cut pink cs to 5-1/2" x 8-1/2", fold in half to make card 5-1/2" x 4-1/4" (A2 size). Trim Rocking Horses paper to 5-1/4" x 4", add Milled Lavender distress ink direct to paper. Adhere to card front.
Adhere "bundle of joy" sticker to a scrap piece of chipboard. Trim away excess and edge with Pumice Stone distress ink.
Cut two 4" doilies in half, placing each half beneath the "bundle of joy" sticker. Trim off excess. Adhere to center of card, as shown. Add pink neon mini dew drops in each corner, as shown.
I hope you enjoyed my projects today, and that I have inspired you to look at things differently. It never ceases to amaze me when I can change things up with a bit of inks, a different embellishment, or even a dew drop color. So, please visit both The Robin's Nest and Love Bug Creations online stores for more fun products to make your mouth water, and check out the blog for more inspiration from the design team.
Thanks so much for stopping by, and have a wonderful week.
