Smeared and Smudged 31 Days of Halloween 2014 Blog Hop- Day 21

Welcome to Day 21 of the 31 Days of Halloween Blog Hop. As you know by now, I am participating in this month-long blog hop with some extremely talented artists.  The complete list of Wicked Bloggers (that's what we are called) are in my side bar.  There are lots of prizes in the daily scavenger hunt, and a Grand Prize worth over $300.

Today I'm sharing my final journal card to go into my mini album.  It is quite simple, but I sure do love the results I got with this one.  Now I have two cards for each pocket.
Trim yellow card stock to 3" x 5" for journal card, and print paper slightly smaller.  Round corners on both pieces.  Edge print paper with Scattered Straw ink.

Stamp Old Fence onto print paper with Versamark ink and detail black embossing powder.
Punch a 1-1/2" circle into a post-it note to use as a mask.  Lay over print paper where you want a spooky moon to be.
Use a makeup sponge to pick up some white pigment ink and apply through mask.  Dry with heat gun.
To prevent contaminating your ink pad, press Scattered Straw and Black Soot onto a craft sheet to pick up the colors and blend through the mask.  Keep the darker Black Soot around the edges of the mask.  Again dry with a heat gun.  Remove mask.
Stamp bats with Black StazOn ink.
Cut small branch from black card stock and adhere to to card, as shown.  Punch owl from black card stock and adhere to branch.  Use Smooch green ink to color in owl's eyes.

Supplies:

Card stock:  Yellow, Graveyard Black
Memory Box Blackbird print paper
Memory Box Old Fence rubber stamp
Bats (unknown)
Sizzix/Tim Holtz die:
Ink Pads:  White Pigment ink, Scattered Straw and Black Soot distress inks, Versamark, Black StazOn
Black detail embossing powder
1-1/2" circle punch

I hope you enjoyed my journal card with the special moon technique.  Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the hop!
